Inspired by the ʻĀina—where life, beauty, and connection are deeply rooted in Hawaiʻi.

Chapter One

Island Roots

Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Joy Hauʻoli developed an early appreciation for nature, animals, and the beauty that surrounded her. Growing up among the islands' landscapes, ocean life, tropical botanicals, and diverse wildlife helped shape the creative spirit that would remain with her throughout her life.

Long before she ever considered becoming a professional artist, she was drawn to beauty, storytelling, creativity, and the natural world.

Those island roots continue to inspire her work today.

Rooted in Hawaiʻi yet inspired by the world beyond its shores.

Chapter Two

Creativity in Many Forms

Joy's creative journey has never followed a straight line.

She studied fashion, fashion merchandising, marketing, fashion design, and interior design, developing a strong foundation in visual aesthetics, color, composition, and design. Her love for creativity extended into many areas, allowing her to explore both artistic and entrepreneurial pursuits.

Over the years, she discovered that creativity is not limited to a single medium—it can be expressed through art, design, business, writing, photography, and storytelling.

Chapter Three

The Entrepreneurial Years

An entrepreneur since the age of twenty, Joy spent many years building businesses and helping others bring their ideas to life.

She owned and operated a successful brick-and-mortar business in the legal services field and later expanded into website design, digital marketing, branding, online business development, and an overwhelming prompting to study health & sciences, specifically in relation to food, nourishment and how eat to beat disease (Dr. William Li).

While these experiences strengthened her skills as a business owner and creative strategist, the desire to create art never disappeared. It quietly remained in the background, waiting for the right season to return.

Chapter Four

Returning to Art

Although creativity had always been present, Joy eventually felt called back to her first love—art.

What began as a desire to learn and improve quickly became a dedicated pursuit. She immersed herself in both traditional and digital art, completing more than one hundred art courses while studying a wide range of techniques, styles, and mediums.

Her artistic education continues today through mentorships and studies with respected instructors, including Hawaiʻi wildlife artist Patrick Ching and the Milan Art Institute.

This season of learning became more than education—it became a rediscovery of purpose.

Chapter Five

Finding Her Voice

As her skills grew, so did her understanding of what she wanted her artwork to represent.

Wildlife, botanicals, nature, connection, and conservation emerged as recurring themes throughout her work.

Whether painting a beloved monk seal, a soaring seabird, a vibrant hibiscus, or wildlife from distant corners of the world, Joy seeks to capture moments that inspire wonder, appreciation, and connection.

Throughout her collections, viewers may discover a recurring hibiscus—sometimes hidden, sometimes in full bloom—serving as a signature symbol honoring her Native Hawaiian heritage.

Chapter Six

A New Chapter

In 2025, Joy's artwork, Precious Manu o Kū, was selected for exhibition and later invited to additional exhibitions, marking an important milestone in her artistic journey.

These opportunities reinforced what she had begun to discover through years of study and practice: art was no longer simply something she loved—it had become an important part of who she was.

Today, Joy continues to create collections inspired by wildlife, nature, and meaningful connections while expanding into prints, products, licensing, publishing, education, and conservation-focused initiatives.

The Journey Ahead

Rooted in Hawaiʻi yet inspired by the world beyond its shores, Joy believes that nature speaks a universal language.

Through her artwork, she hopes to inspire appreciation for wildlife, celebrate the beauty of the natural world, and encourage a deeper connection between people and the environments we share.

The journey continues—one painting, one collection, and one meaningful connection at a time. 🌺
